While the 2018 Outback won't be "all-new" until its next major model makeover for the 2019 or 2020 model year, the refreshes for this year make it well worth putting the 2018 Outback on your radar for your next SUV.
Here are the biggest and most exciting updates for the 2018 model-year for Subaru's most iconic crossover/wagon:
New Styling
The Subaru Outback has never had a problem looking good--there's a reason that its general design language hasn't really changed in the last decade. But new additions and tweaks, like a more aggressive front fascia, redesigned headlights, and more rugged accents around the frame and bottom of the vehicle, the 2018 Outback is definitely showing off.
New Tech
New for 2018, the Outback adds the latest upgrades to its STARLINK multimedia and infotainment systems, with integration for Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and more accessibility at more levels. The touchscreen is slightly larger, voice recognition is sharper, and more of the gear you love comes standard.
Better Ride
While Subaru tends to prioritize capability over luxury, the new 2018 Outback strikes a great balance of both. From new sound-insulating glass at the front of the vehicle, to adjustments made to the wheel wells to reduce noise, to even upgrades to the engine and transmission, the new model will be quieter and more comfortable than ever--add new premium materials and a more attractive center console, and you can see why Subaru's legendary wagon is staying so competitive.
