The Subaru Crosstrek has consistently been a solid performer. It offers a great combination of features, making it very practical for many of our local customers at Ganley Subaru of Bedford. What's even better is that Subaru has improved the Crosstrek for the 2021 model year. Read on to Learn more!

Exterior Design

First of all, the front of the Crosstrek has been slightly tweaked. Its new front bumper and grille feel a bit more modern. There have also been a few changes made to the wheel designs. Another aesthetic difference is that instead of orange, the Crosstrek can come with yellow exterior paint; likewise, instead of Quartz Blue, the Crosstrek can now come in Horizon Blue Pearl.

Performance

The more serious upgrades to the 2021 Crosstrek have to do with what's under the hood. Now available on the Crosstrek is a 2.5-liter engine. While the lower trims will still run on the 2.0-liter engine that all models of the Crosstrek previously used, the higher trims get to take advantage of the more spirited version. The larger engine can generate 182 horsepower, which is about 50 more horsepower than the 2.0-liter version has. Torque jumps up from around 140 to approximately 175 pound-feet. What's great is that the enhanced engine has about the same fuel economy as the standard one.

Subaru Crosstrek Sport

One other important thing is that the 2021 Crosstrek has a new trim, the Sport. The Sport, as its name suggests, has an athletic feel to it. It has more drive modes than the other trims, allowing it to handle rugged terrain, and it has X-Mode. X-Mode is a system that improves the way the all-wheel-drive system deals with harsh conditions. Also, the Crosstrek Sport has bright yellow stitching on its seats and steering wheel that many people will appreciate.
